Indigo Shibori & Resist printing

24 & 25 February 2018

Beginners and those with prior experience

Venue : Campbell Scout Hall, Canberra

Working with an organic indigo vat, we will explore shibori techniques as well as an indigo resist paste that can be used in conjunction with hand-painting, stencilling, stamping and screenprinting techniques.

By combining resist printing together with shibori techniques, many complex and beautiful blue and white fabrics of all shades an be produced.

What You Will Learn

  1. How to make an organic indigo vat without harmful chemicals

  2. How to make a resist paste for use with the organic indigo vats.

  3. Introduction to shibori techniques

Learn how to design complex cloths through repeated resist/indigo applications

  1. Learn how to cut stencils, stamps and use silkscreen techniques with the resist paste to produce unique designs

Class size: Limit of 10, minimum 6 people.

Cost: $250 includes delicious vegetarian lunch and morning and afternoon teas.
